Junction West Vallecito Resort Announces Wood Carvings Tour

Junction West Vallecito Resort, one of the parks managed by IVEE Group, is proud to announce the Wood Carvings Tour. The resort, nestled in the Rocky Mountains of southwest Colorado, is one of 14 stops along a tour dedicated to honoring those who battled the historic Missionary Ridge wildfire in 2002.

The sculpture at Junction West Vallecito Resort, the first stop on the tour, depicts a fireman with a shovel, representing all the departments from the Four Corners area who helped combat the wildfire. These beautiful carvings, created from fire-scarred tree trunks, surround the entirety of Vallecito Lake, serving as a focal point of gratitude and remembrance.

“We are honored to be a part of this meaningful tour,” said Ann Lavery, Regional Manager overseeing Junction West Vallecito Resort. “The sculpture at our resort is a testament to the bravery and dedication of the firefighters who worked tirelessly to protect our community during the Missionary Ridge wildfire.”

Tom Mason, COO of IVEE Group, added, “This tour not only showcases the resilience of the natural environment but also the strength of the community that came together during a challenging time. We invite guests to experience these unique works of art and reflect on the sacrifices made by our local heroes.”

Visitors to Junction West Vallecito Resort can enjoy the sculpture and embark on the Wood Carvings Tour while experiencing the resort’s temperate summers, outstanding beauty, and a full range of leisure activities. To make reservations and learn more about the resort, please visit jwvallecito.com.
